Langford Garden Preserves

Farm-inspired, this innovative line of comfits and compotes (230 ml) range from sweet to savoury. We have created the Langford Garden Preserves from recipes that highlight the distinctive flavours of fruits, our edible flowers, and even local trees. Our comfits are clear like a classic jelly with the farm compotes full of chunks of fruit and petals. Each label is a bold collage of ingredients and garden colour.

Aromatic and Savoury:

Jalapeno and Nasturtium Comfit is a burnt orange jelly comfit that is a zesty companion for meat and cheeses.

Chipotle and Marigold Comfit is a warm gold with a slightly smoky flavour that can be used just like a fine mustard.

Pepper and Rose Comfit is elegant pink that offers the piquant taste of peppers and the floral note of roses.

Richly Romantic:

Rose Petal Comfit is a soft pink jelly and our traditional floral favourite with tea and toast.

Raspberry and Rosewater Comfit is a regal burgundy shade that balances the flavour from the raspberries that grow in our valley with the subtleties of roses.

Lavender Comfit is a delicate comfit made with the culinary lavender harvested at our neighbour’s farm.

The Woods

Plum, Spruce Tip, and Marigold Comfit is a magical combination of young spruce tips, our heritage yellow plums and the warmth of field marigolds perfect for pork or smoked cheeses.

Saskatoon, Cedar and Violet Comfit is amber and a sultry sensation on planked salmon or Irish soda bread.

Juniper, Black Currant, and Geranium Comfit is a captivating medley from the best of local ingredients that enhances exotic meats, seafood, and sharp cheeses.

Farm Compotes

Peach, Pansy and Ginger Compote has just the right amount of ginger and the pansies add a whimsical burst of colour.

Blackberry, Lime and Begonia Compote is made from our farm blackberries and the begonias that grow in hanging baskets along the fence making this a rich and full companion for a scone or crumpet.

Cranberry, Cherry, and Carnation Compote is a year round favourite with the tartness of cranberries and cherries enhanced by a hint of clove flavour from our farm grown carnations.
